BHI has the largest medical and pharmacy claims database in the United States. BHI’s mission is to leverage the data and advanced analytics to improve outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
BHI was spun out of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association in 2011 as a standalone for-profit company. At that time, the company had expenses of $25M per year and no revenue. Upon joining BHI, Ms. Abbott laid out a strategic business plan for the company and raised 38M in capital from 18 Blue Cross Blue Shield plans.
Through effective strategy and strong operational skills, she drove the company to be profitable within 3 years. Under Ms. Abbott’s leadership, BHI has emerged as a leading provider of data, analytical consulting, as well as software solutions for payers, providers and life sciences companies with revenues over 60M in 2021. The company saw over 400% revenue and profit growth under her leadership.
